Lilly Holds Press Conference to Detail Leadership Changes

Lechleiter to retire; Ricks to be Lilly's 11th CEO

What:   

Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) today announced that John C. Lechleiter, Ph.D., chairman, president and chief executive officer, will retire as president and CEO and from the company effective December 31, 2016. Lechleiter will remain non-executive chairman of Lilly's board of directors until May 31, 2017, at which time he will leave the board. Lilly's board of directors unanimously elected David A. Ricks, currently senior vice president and president, Lilly Bio-Medicines, to assume the role of president and chief executive officer and to join the board on January 1, 2017, and to become chairman of the board on June 1, 2017.




Company officials will detail these leadership changes at today's event.
